According to a good part of the non-class left, including supposed anti-imperialists and socialists, the Russian imperialist aggression against Ukraine is not that. Instead, the U.S. and NATO are waging a proxy war against innocent Russia. But the below figures given by Domagoj Franic, who is almost always reliable, give lie to this story. (And remember that Biden himself withheld weapons that Ukraine vitally needed.)
“So let's be clear - negotiations are not 'at a standstill', negotiations are a corpse that is occasionally taken out of the freezer to be petted a little in front of the cameras, declared that they are 'making progress', and then put back in the freezer.
“Why is this going in circles? Russia wants all of Donetsk and Lugansk, Kiev will not give it, and that's it - there is no room for 'diplomatic skills', it is simply a question of whether Putin will admit that he threw hundreds of thousands of people into the butcher's shop for nothing. …
“Now, the numbers - because there's no philosophy here, there's bare data. BIDEN HAS BEEN SENDING AN AVERAGE OF $1.28 BILLION IN WEAPONS PER MONTH FOR 34 MONTHS. TRUMP HAS DROPPED THAT TO ABOUT $266 MILLION PER MONTH IN THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2026 - A DROP OF ALMOST 80 PERCENT.
Since January 2025, the Trump administration has not authorized a single new package from the US military stockpile - all that's going forward is Biden's old contract that is being completed, or is being paid for by the Europeans through some NATO mechanism where the US is just selling weapons instead of giving them away.

Against the Russian invasion of Ukraine
Re: Against the Russian invasion of Ukraine
Franic is right about the big drop in the huge drop-off in U.S. supply of munitions to Ukraine. There are two issues here: one, Trump is uninterested in Ukraine's resistance. He would rather see a settlement of the war by Ukraine agreeing to Putin's territorial demands. This is a way of pressuring Ukraine to agree to a peace settlement. But second, the U.S. is actually short of munitions supplies because of the attack on Iran. And the European nations rely on U.S. supplies also, so they are hesitant to send more to Ukraine when they too are being cut off. Anyway, the result is Ukraine is suffering badly from Russia's recent barrage of missiles. Zelensky admits this and says it's a natural result of being left without defensive missiles -- Patriot interceptors -- that could knock down the incoming missiles.
