Link does not work, but there's lots of other things on the same subject. I posted 2-3 of them on FB.

Sorry I didn't notice this until now. TIm, the URL you sent would only work for you, not others (and maybe doesn't work for you now, either). Note that the URL starts with "mail.yahoo.com". That means it is pointing to something in your yahoo mail inbox. When the URL is used by someone else, it will point to something in their yahoo inbox. They cannot access what is in your inbox. And that's just as well, as you wouldn't want them to be able to access your inbox.

So probably you saw an item in your inbox, and clicked on it. By reaching the item this way, the URL starts mail.yahoo.com and it refers to your inbox. This is not something peculiar to yahoo mail. The same thing can happen via gmail or Outlook or other mail programs.

Frank, you didn't even provide URLs. But if you had, it's possible that a similar problem could arise if you cite URL's which are generated by Facebook. Facebook URLs have a similar issue with those generated by email programs, but it is more complicated. Facebook generates both Public URLs, which can be used by anyone, and Private URLs, which won't work for others. There is a reason why Facebook does this, but nevertheless it can be difficult to tell which URLs are private and which are public. It's not so easy as it is with the email programs. Apparently the most reliable method is to call up the URL on a browser on which one is NOT connected to Facebook, and see what happens. If anyone is interested, we can discuss this further.
